Josiah’s House Project 2024
Josiah’s House is a family style Children’s Home located in the Dominican Republic. Our children come from various traumatic circumstances; They may be orphaned, physically or sexually abused, neglected, many of them living in the streets. Josiah’s House places the children in a family environment within our home with Dominican Foster parents, and 7 other children. We have a holistic approach with our children, giving them nutritious food, healthcare, and emotional support with a full time psychologist. We begin to teach them through the Word of God and our actions that Jesus loves them, He can heal their broken places, and help them to forgive.
We have a second program, “Hope Continues”, that helps our children 18 and older to finish High School, go to a university, and find a job while we continue to offer them the same support on a different campus.
New Toyota Van
The money raised will go towards purchasing a transportation van for Josiah’s House. Any additional funds would go toward the costs of food, clothing, healthcare, tuition and the expansion needs of the ministry to receive more children in need.
Jenny
On July 4th , 2021 my sweet husband (Darren) had a massive heart attack, lost consciousness and was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The hospital team did everything they could, but in the end his heart was too weak. He went to Heaven a few days later, at the age of 55. My husband loved the 4th of July. It was one of his favorite holidays. Every year we would have a big party, invite all of our friends and set off an insane amount of fireworks in our back yard. Lighting fireworks for our family and friends brought my husband so much joy. Having his heart attack on the 4th was very fitting. I used to call him my little firecracker because he was a mighty man, loud, joyful and full of life. You could hear his laugh all the way across the room and it always made me smile. His laughter and joyful spirit are greatly missed.
Josiah’s House is a ministry that is dear to mine and my husband’s heart. Darren and I met on a mission trip to Josiah’s House in 2010. This was one of three trips Darren had made to Josiah’s House. Darren had felt God’s blessing on his life and serving Josiah’s House was a way for him to give back. After our trip, we continued as friends for several years until we started dating and then eventually married in 2016. I am honored to have been his wife. At Darren’s Celebration of Life service, we asked that any donations given would be donated to Josiah’s House. Through this project and Both Hands ministry, Darren and I are able to serve Josiah’s House once again. I am greatly honored, humbled and thankful to have been chosen for this project.
A Different Kind of Fundraiser
A team of volunteers is completing a service project of fixing up a widow's home. We are raising sponsorship for our day of service. The funds raised will help orphans receive the loving care they need. Our hope is to purchase a new van to meet the group's transportation needs. Will you sponsor us?
