Caleb & Hope Helms

Caleb & Hope Helms

Fort Worth, TX

Meet the Helms. Before they were married, the Lord placed in their hearts the desire to adopt. One of their primary motivations for adoption is the weight of our spiritual adoption in Christ. Paul portrays this spiritual reality vividly in Galatians 4, when he talks about our transition from being slaves to sin, to becoming heirs of God in verse 7: “So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.” This spectacular transformation from slaves to joint heirs with Christ (not just sons!) should evoke the greatest amount of gratitude from believers, and has ignited a passion in the Helms to portray the spiritual picture of adoption through physical adoption. They now have two boys, and ever since their second child was born, they felt God leading them towards adoption, and the doors have kept on opening ever since!

Waiting Children

Orphans Costa Rica

God has led the Helms to pursue adopting a sibling set from Costa Rica. While they don’t yet know their names, Caleb and Hope are praying for them every day and working on their Spanish! When they are matched, there will be a few weeks of transition time and then they will travel and live in Costa Rica for 2 months while they finalize the adoption. They are praying that the Both Hands project will bring them close to their financial goal, so the Helms can travel as soon as possible after the match happens.

The loss of a beloved spouse often makes it difficult for a widow to keep up with the needed repairs and improvements to her home. We are excited to bless a widow in our community in a big way!
