Team Murtha

Brentwood, TN

If you were to ask anyone to describe the Murtha family, the word generous would be on the top of everyone’s list - with their resources, their time, and their lives. From the slums of India and Rwanda to CEO boardrooms and neighborhood back porches, the Murthas are known for investing in people, and in worthy causes. Several years ago, Greg Murtha, sent us a letter asking us to sponsor his family as they worked on a widow’s home, and the donation we would send would benefit an orphan. We had no way of knowing that one day we would be part of a beautiful community asking friends to help HIS widow, and HIS orphan (Jackson was adopted by the Murthas at birth).

Jackson

Orphan USA

Right now, Tracey and Jackson Murtha are the people to be served, emotional wellness and therapy involving some next steps for Jackson's care are the causes we're asking you to support. Tracey and Jackson (17) have been struggling to find their new normal since Greg’s passing from colon cancer on June 22, 2017. Greg’s last five years were chronicled beautifully in his book Out of The Blue. However, what couldn’t be depicted on those pages were the unwritten words of “life after Greg,” the emotional after shock, and the battle that would ensue for this widow, and for this “orphan.”

Tracey

Widow Brentwood, TN

The loss of a beloved spouse often makes it difficult for a widow to keep up with the needed repairs and improvements to her home. We are excited to bless Tracey in this way as she moves into a new season and home!

Murtha Both Hands Project

Project March 30, 2019

On March 30th, Team Murtha will be serving Tracey (getting her house ready for the market) while raising money for Jackson’s next steps in care, and Tracey’s opportunity to heal through ongoing counseling. Would you consider sponsoring me while one hand serves the widow, and one hand serves the orphan? We are working toward $60,000 to help meet these needs.
