Shelby Smith
Shelby is a single and hopeful mom-to-be. Life has had its ups and downs, for sure, but two things have remained constant. First is her relationship and love for God. Second is her desire to one day adopt a child with Down syndrome. That desire has been a calling for over 20 years. A near death experience reminded her that there is no reason to wait any longer.
"Chickadee"
Shelby is adopting a daughter with Down syndrome from Armenia. Though matching doesn't take place until just before travel, this child is already so loved. "Chickadee" is prayed for daily. The adoption fees are estimated to total over $60K. Shelby and her support system have been working hard to raise the funds to adopt her future daughter, and we all thank you for any help you can give.
Phebe
Phebe is Shelby’s neighbor. She and her family lived in Texas for many years. Her son still lives in Dallas, TX and she dreams of going back to live near him, but this isn’t a reality for her. She has battled cancer and her sight and hearing are impaired. Having retired from an office job, Phebe now loves to spend time with her dog, Mitzi, and her parrot, JoJo. She also loves to garden.
A Different Kind of Fundraiser
A team of volunteers is completing a service project of fixing up a widow's home. We are raising sponsorship for our day of service. The funds raised will help a child to become adopted into a forever family. Will you sponsor us?
