Colin & Rebecca Buffington

June 8, 2024 | Quarryville, PA

Colin and Becca Buffington have been serving as missionaries in Honduras for the last five years. They always felt called to stand in the gap for vulnerable children, but never imagined what would be in store for them as the hardships of 2020 struck Honduras and the world. Ultimately the crisis led to them accepting a placement of an abandoned newborn, changing their lives forever. From that moment God moved mountains that people said couldn’t be moved, all for the sake of this sweet little babe. Now they are overjoyed to announce they’ve since been matched and are in the final stages of adoption with that same baby boy, now three, almost four-years old. The total cost to bring him home is $19,000.

Archer

Orphan | Honduras

Archer is going to be four this May. He’s such a spunky and loving little boy and truly is the BEST big brother. When he was two, he was diagnosed with bilateral sensorineural hearing loss and requires hearing aids for each ear. However, upon his arrival to the United States, he will require an evaluation to determine if cochlear implants would best serve his needs. He will also require on-going speech and hearing rehabilitation. The Buffingtons can’t wait to introduce him to the rest of his extended family and the community of people who have surrounded him with love and prayers!

Mrs. McDowell photo

Mrs. McDowell

Widow | Pennsylvania

We are honored to be able to serve Mrs. McDowell in our widow service project in our hometown of Pennsylvania. It’s such a blessing to be able to pour back into her as she and her late husband have always been incredible supporters of us as we’ve served orphaned and vulnerable children in Honduras. Mr. McDowell will be remembered as an inspiration to Colin, whose father passed away when he was young. Mr. McDowell was his teacher and basketball coach and consistently always pushed him to be his best self. Colin fondly stated, “I’ve had so many people in my life step up when my Father passed away, that I wanted to be that for the children of Honduras. Mr. McDowell was one of those people that inspired me and always was there if need be.” Mrs. McDowell lost her husband in March of last year. We knew without a doubt that we wanted to step in and help her in anyway that we could. She continues to inspire and be very involved in the community as a teacher and mentor. She is in need of paint, organization, cleaning, yard work and a new fence. She is so deserving and we can’t wait to bless her!

A Different Kind of Fundraiser

A team of volunteers is completing a service project of fixing up a widow's home. We are raising sponsorship for our day of service. The funds raised will help an orphan to become adopted into a forever family. Will you sponsor us?
