Chris & Jessica Matthews

August 19, 2023 | Ingleside, IL

Chris and Jessica Matthews are a military family that have been married for 16 wonderful years and have three beautiful biological children. Adoption has been on their hearts since they were first married. They always knew that a child was still missing from their family. They have been awaiting the Lord’s timing for adoption for the last 2.5yrs and are excited to have finally found their son. A  supportive community is so necessary for any child and especially for adoption.  They are so thankful for the support, on this journey of adoption and bring home their new son.

Orphan | United States

After two international military moves and 2.5 years of waiting, they received a call from a precious mama who asked if they would raise her son as their own. What sacrifice and love to give her child life even when circumstances did not allow her to raise him herself. Adoption leaves all those involved with hurting hearts for the loss and brokenness, but also in awe and wonder at all the love and devotion that can overcome that sadness. Their soon-to-be son has been growing in their hearts for years—to now know where he is from and that they will get to meet him and hold him in September is an anticipation like no other!

Widow | Illinois

Karen lost her husband 17 months ago. Just seven weeks after they were married he fell and suffered a head injury. She then, was not only his devoted wife, but his full time caregiver. She is the Director of GriefShare, bringing comfort to others as she has been comforted. She and the Matthews attend the same church. Her home is in need of some tender loving care and we feel honored to bless her through this service project.

A Different Kind of Fundraiser

A team of volunteers is completing a service project of fixing up a widow's home. We are raising sponsorship for our day of service. The funds raised will help an orphan to become adopted into a forever family. Will you sponsor us?
