A Van, A Village, and Kids Who Got to Go Home
When Tyler and Hope Reichenau connected with Both Hands, they were adopting from China. Then China closed its international adoption program and their journey stopped short. But their heart for orphans didn’t change. Tyler and Hope started a new ministry, Everlasting Arms, in Kamonkoli, Uganda with the goal of empowering special needs children throughout the country.
The Reichenaus still had money left in their adoption fund. They were happy to see it go to other Both Hands families who are adopting. After our staff met and prayed about it, we decided to bless their new ministry with those funds instead. That money paid for a van.

The van’s trip was a long one. It crossed two continents and went by ship over the Indian Ocean, and it finally made it to its final destination in Kamonkoli. Hope told us why it matters so much:

“Our biggest conviction is that a child belongs with a family, and this allows us to pick up the child each morning and return them to their family at the end of the day.
With a van, we can bypass the normal ‘boarding school’ or orphanage setup.”
What began as one family’s adoption fund now helps children in Uganda stay with their own families. Thank you to everyone who gave toward the Reichenaus’ project. Your generosity went further than any of us expected.
