4 Steps to a Both Hands Adoption Fundraising Project
Gather a Team
The saying goes “It takes a village to raise a child.” We believe it takes a village to bring one home, too! A Both Hands adoption fundraising project starts with gathering a core team of around 10+ people who want to serve a widow and fundraise together. This can be family members, friends, co-workers, your church small group, etc.
Find a Widow
Widows are often overlooked in our communities and may not know who to ask for help. If you know of a widow in need through your church or neighborhood, great! If not, the Both Hands team will guide you through finding a widow in your community to serve, typically with tasks like landscaping, cleaning, decluttering and painting.
Raise Funds for Your Adoption
Your core team will raise sponsorship for your project day by sending pre-made fundraising letters to their contacts and sharing your online crowdfunding page hosted on Both Hands' website. 100% of the funds raised will go toward your adoption expenses.
Both Hands is offering $3,000 matching grants to families who complete a Both Hands project in 2026, which will make your funds go even further!
Serve for a Day
As you determine a date for your project, Both Hands will provide you with a toolkit that's accessible 24/7 to help you plan an impactful project day, and our staff will personally coach you through every step.
We also provide a $1,000 supply grant for your project and send tips on how to approach local merchants to donate supplies. You and your team will be fully equipped to have an incredible day living out James 1:27.
Both Hands projects raised an average of over $23,000* the past three years, with many projects raising even more than that!
* Based on the average of every adoption fundraising project completed in 2023, 2024 and 2025. Families are not guaranteed to raise the average.

We are committed to doing everything we can to help our Both Hands families afford adoption. That's why we don't take out any administrative fees from donations to our projects. If a donor chooses not to cover the credit card and processing fees, Both Hands will cover it to ensure 100% of the gift supports the cause.
