Matthew & Madeline Walker

March 28, 2026 | Smithfield, VA

We are Matthew and Madeline. We met at the age of 9 on the baseball field and married at the age of 20 in 2015. In 2022, the Lord blessed us with our daughter Arabella, who is eager to be a big sister. Our adoption journey began a few years ago when God placed it on our hearts, especially after learning that we could not grow our family naturally due to medical reasons. We believe every life is created in God’s Image and holds immeasurable worth, and that adoption beautifully reflects the gospel—how God brings us into His family and calls us His own. We trust that God is leading us each step of the way, and we are thrilled to grow our little family.

**The first $3,000 donated to this project will be matched!**

Domestic Adoption | United States

We started our adoption process in 2025 through Commonwealth Catholic Charities in Richmond, VA. We completed our home study last July and have been a “waiting family” for a domestic adoption since then. We are excitedly waiting for God’s timing to match us with a precious birth family and a sweet little one!

Domestic adoption costs around $60,000, which primarily covers agency fees, birth mother care (support with daily living, counseling, etc) and legal fees.

Ms. Joy

Widow | Virginia

Joy is an AMAZING, godly women we’ve known for years. She married the love of her life on March 27, 1976, and they shared 49 beautiful years together until he was called home to be with Jesus in January 2025. She pours herself out in so many areas at our church and community. She genuinely reflects the love of Jesus in all she says and does. Joy is selling her current home and downsizing to a home next door to her two sisters and brother-in-laws. We are honored to help do some needed “punch list” items to get her home ready to sell by doing a Both Hands project.

A Different Kind of Fundraiser

A team of volunteers is completing a service project of fixing up a widow's home. We are raising sponsorship for our day of service. The funds raised will help a child to become adopted into a forever family. Will you sponsor us?

No Administration Fees

We don’t take a penny out of the funds raised for adoption or orphan care projects for ourselves.

We are committed to doing everything we can to help our Both Hands families afford adoption. That’s why we don't take out any administrative fees from donations to our projects. If a donor chooses not to cover the credit card and processing fees, Both Hands will cover it to ensure 100% of the gift supports the cause.
