C.A.R.E. 2026
Christian Adoption Resources and Education (CARE) exist so adoptive families do not have to walk this journey alone. As adoptive parents ourselves, we come alongside adoptive families in our tri-state area of IL, IA, and MO. CARE gives adoption grants, reducing financial barriers to adopt.
The cost of adoption ranges between $20,000 and $60,000. Since 2011, C.A.R.E. has supported families by giving adoption grants to bring 13 children into their forever homes. Since we expanded our service area, our grant giving has increased.
Join us in this cause of living out James 1:27 through being a part of building families through adoption. We can’t think of a better way than to serve two widows in our community. To learn more about C.A.R.E., visit: https://christianadoptionresources.org/.
**The first $3,000 donated to this project will be matched!**

Adoption Grants
In 2025 CARE gave two families $3,000 Adoption Grants. One of those beautiful families is pictured here. They are a two-time CARE Adoption Grant recipient family. In 2026, we already have two more local families that are approved to receive grants. One is an international adoption in Burundi and the other is a U.S. infant adoption.
Ms. Laura & Ms. Karen
Laura was widowed in January 2025. She is now a single mother raising a 9-year-old daughter with the help of her widowed mother-in-law. Mandy Humphry, CARE Executive Director, has known Laura for over a decade through teens they have mutually mentored in the community. Laura is a Resource Special Education high school teacher. She has dedicated 22 years in the same school district. From some moving around Laura has accumulated a lot of stuff, and it is overwhelming to tackle herself. She has asked for help in decluttering her home.
Karen is a pillar of the Dallas City community, teaching for 30 years in Dallas City until the school closed it's doors in 2000, and then following the students to teach in Nauvoo to help them with their transition to the new school. She always knew she wanted to be a teacher and she is glad she was able to have a career in teaching. Ms. Karen was widowed in 2022, after 54 years of marriage to Don. Our project for her will be to update the deck to make it handicap accessible and also do some spring cleaning projects in the yard.
A Different Kind of Fundraiser
A team of volunteers is completing a service project of fixing up a widow's home. We are raising sponsorship for our day of service. The funds raised will help a child to become adopted into a forever family. Will you sponsor us?

No Administration Fees
We don’t take a penny out of the funds raised for adoption or orphan care projects for ourselves.
We are committed to doing everything we can to help our Both Hands families afford adoption. That’s why we don't take out any administrative fees from donations to our projects. If a donor chooses not to cover the credit card and processing fees, Both Hands will cover it to ensure 100% of the gift supports the cause.
We raise funds for our operations separately through support from donors like you. By supporting Both Hands, you help us serve more adoptive families, bless more widows, and bring even more children into their forever families.
