The Ampersand Initiative
Raquel and Leah met through their shared experience as birthmothers many years ago, but it was their shared passion for education and advocacy through a lens of empathy and grace that eventually deepened their friendship. As best friends with very different personalities but an equally strong passion for helping others, they formed The Ampersand Initiative. In everything they do, they aim to cultivate a culture of healing and growth for other birth mothers.

Resilient Retreat
Our mission is to inspire birth moms to build resilience while holding space for both grief and gratitude. Funds raised directly support our annual Resilient Retreat—a curated long weekend centered on holistic healing, adventure, and community. We love helping birth mothers rediscover joy and purpose in life, because healing can be fun!
Ms. Emily
Emily is a teacher, mother, and widow residing in SC with her children James and Judah. Her husband, David, passed away in 2021 after a lifelong battle with epilepsy. David is best remembered for the life he boldly lived for Christ. Emily and her children are thankful for their church family at Aspen Grove Church and the volunteers who have stepped in to meet their physical needs.
A Different Kind of Fundraiser
A team of volunteers is completing a service project of fixing up a widow's home. We are raising sponsorship for our day of service. The funds raised will help support courageous birth moms. Will you sponsor us?

Your tax-deductible donation is to the 501(c)3 non-profit organization Both Hands Foundation (EIN 26-1879659). In following IRS guidelines, Both Hands’ governing board retains full discretion over the donation’s use, but intends to honor the donor’s suggestion. Both Hands does not charge an administrative fee and raises its operating support separately. Donors that supply their email will receive a tax receipt upon donation. Those who leave it blank will receive a mailed tax receipt at year end, if the donation is $250 or more.
No Administration Fees
We don’t take a penny out of the funds raised for adoption or orphan care projects for ourselves.
We are committed to doing everything we can to help our Both Hands families afford adoption. That’s why we don't take out any administrative fees from donations to our projects. If a donor chooses not to cover the credit card and processing fees, Both Hands will cover it to ensure 100% of the gift supports the cause.
We raise funds for our operations separately through support from donors like you. By supporting Both Hands, you help us serve more adoptive families, bless more widows, and bring even more children into their forever families.
