Coltyn & Sarah Nelson

September 19, 2026 | Bismarck, ND

Hi! We are Coltyn & Sarah Nelson and are high school sweethearts who have been married for 8 years. Adoption holds a special place in our hearts as we believe that family is those you choose to love! We officially matched in our adoption journey this last Father’s Day and will be adopting a sweet baby into our family this November from a wonderful couple in Arizona!

**The first $4,000 donated to this project will be matched!**

Volunteering for project day? Be sure to sign your volunteer waiver here ahead of time so we can get straight to serving on the big day!

Domestic Adoption | United States

God has blessed us in so many ways during our time of adoption and infertility over the last 7 years; and, although there has been heartache, we have also received immense graces during our time of waiting. We are beyond joyful to welcome our baby home and give our love to the birth family who has chosen us!

Widow | North Dakota

"I am Sheila and I have been widowed for 5 years now. I was born in Richardton, ND and grew up on a farm, the 2nd of 10 children. I went to school at St. Mary’s in Richardton through high school. I then received an associate degree as a medical lab technician. I married Ken at St. Mary’s in 1963. We raised 6 children, all married, giving us 17 grandchildren and as of now – 10 great grandchildren with 4 more in the next few months. We lived the longest in Dickinson, 43 years. In 2012 we moved to Bismarck with our family scattered from Green Bay to North St. Paul, to Fargo, and Bismarck. We joined St. Anne Catholic Church and soon after Fr. Wayne Sattler became our pastor. Funny, but his father and Ken played baseball together in the summer at Richardton, small world. Ken passed away from cancer in 2021. We helped each other in the house & yard and I was blessed that he had shown me how to operate the lawn mower and the snow blower, but my hands are not as steady and my joints don’t bend so well anymore. Both Hands will be a blessing to me as much as I hope to give back to them in the future.

Blessing to you,
Sheila"

A Different Kind of Fundraiser

A team of volunteers is completing a service project of fixing up a widow's home. We are raising sponsorship for our day of service. The funds raised will help a child to become adopted into a forever family. Will you sponsor us?

No Administration Fees

We don’t take a penny out of the funds raised for adoption or orphan care projects for ourselves.

We are committed to doing everything we can to help our Both Hands families afford adoption. That’s why we don't take out any administrative fees from donations to our projects. If a donor chooses not to cover the credit card and processing fees, Both Hands will cover it to ensure 100% of the gift supports the cause.

We raise funds for our operations separately through support from donors like you. By supporting Both Hands, you help us serve more adoptive families, bless more widows, and bring even more children into their forever families.
