Van & Amanda Jones
Our story started as high school sweethearts who met through our youth group. We’ve been married now for 7 1/2 years and we have 2 biological children. Our son, Ezra, is going to be 3 in June and our daughter, Isla, is almost 1. We went on a missions trip with our church to Eldoret, Kenya in 2010 while we were still in high school. While serving in an orphanage there, God placed adoption on our hearts and we knew then that it would be a part of our story together. Ten years later, we prayed about it and felt God tell us that now was the time to pursue adoption.
Sam
We began our adoption journey in the summer of 2020. Our son was only a year old and we were at the peak of the pandemic but amidst all of that, we felt God strongly telling us that it was time to start looking into adoption. After a lot of research and prayer, we decided to adopt from Liberia. Our home study took significantly longer than we had planned because we welcomed our little girl, Isla, into the world in the spring of 2021 and decided to finalize it after her birth. Since then things have moved faster than we could have ever imagined! We wrapped up our dossier and were told that it could take anywhere from 6-18 months before we were matched with a child. Just 2 months later we got the referral call (just a few days before Christmas!) and we were so excited to say "Yes!" to Sam, a 3-year-old boy! Ezra keeps one of the pictures of him in his room and calls him "My Sam." After we said yes, we were told that we would most likely be traveling to Liberia in the about 9 months (September 2022) but things have worked out for us to travel on May 19th! We are taking Ezra and Isla with us to Liberia and look forward to the day we officially become a family of 5!
Peggy
The loss of a beloved spouse often makes it difficult for a widow to keep up with the needed repairs and improvements to her home. Due to recent health issues, Peggy has had even more difficulty maintaining her home. She also has two adopted children herself. We are excited to bless Peggy in a big way!
A Different Kind of Fundraiser
A team of volunteers is completing a service project of fixing up a widow's home. We are raising sponsorship for our day of service. The funds raised will help an orphan to become adopted into a forever family. Will you sponsor us?
