We are Raul and Andrea Ferreira, and we have been married for five wonderful years. Thank you for taking the time to visit our project page. Our adoption journey began a few years ago when God placed it on our hearts, especially after learning that we could not grow our family naturally due to medical reasons. After months of prayer, we felt God’s calling to become adoptive parents and began seeking His heart for the orphan.
Partnering with Both Hands will help us fund our adoption, which is estimated to cost around $25,000. We are excited to see how God will work through this project and how, together, we can answer His call to care for the widow and the orphan, just as Scripture teaches. We will also be partnering with our home church to find the widow we will have the privilege of serving through this project.
We trust that God is leading us each step of the way, and we are thrilled to grow our little family. Our home is already filled with joy, laughter, and faith, and our hearts are wide open to welcome a child into it.

Choosing adoption wasn’t a difficult decision for us. When we learned that Raul’s battle with cancer would prevent us from growing our family naturally, we sought God’s guidance for what was next. The Lord made it clear that adoption was the path He had prepared for our family, and we are excited to see how He will grow our little family through this beautiful journey.
Domestic adoption costs around $60,000, which primarily covers agency fees, birth mother care (support with daily living, counseling, etc) and legal fees.
Phyllis
We were connected to Phyllis through our home church. She lost her husband 16 yrs ago due to an accident. A few years ago hurricane Beryl had a tree fall on her home; and she has been in the process of rebuilding and fixing things ever since. We plan to build her a shed, clean up her garden, paint two walls, fix a light fixture, remove debris, clean out the gutters, replace an antique door knob, and put trim molding on a kitchen window. We are honored to have the opportunity to bless her home and serve her.
A Different Kind of Fundraiser
A team of volunteers is completing a service project of fixing up a widow's home. We are raising sponsorship for our day of service. The funds raised will help a child to become adopted into a forever family. Will you sponsor us?

Your tax-deductible donation is to the 501(c)3 non-profit organization Both Hands Foundation (EIN 26-1879659). In following IRS guidelines, Both Hands’ governing board retains full discretion over the donation’s use, but intends to honor the donor’s suggestion. Both Hands does not charge an administrative fee and raises its operating support separately. Donors that supply their email will receive a tax receipt upon donation. Those who leave it blank will receive a mailed tax receipt at year end, if the donation is $250 or more.
