Alex & Catherine Herndon
We got married right out of college and had our biological kids, Landon (13) and Hadley (11), a few years later. God put adoption on both of our hearts so long ago we can’t remember- either before we started our family or shortly after. For many years, we felt like God had adoption on our hearts as a “someday, but not yet” and wanted to pursue being good stewards of the two biological children God had given us. Our hope has always been to just keep trusting, obeying and taking that next step He places before us. Through the years, we have checked in with each other to see if we still felt called to adopt and if it was time. The answer continued to be yes and not yet. This fall, we sensed the Lord saying “now”.
**The first $3,000 donated to this project will be matched!**
Baby Herndon
Since this fall, we have prayed, sought wise counsel from our friends (especially those who've adopted!) and family, and took early steps of obedience and the Lord has paved the path before us. We are currently home study approved to adopt a domestic infant, toddler or young sibling set and waiting to be matched with a birth mom.
Ms. Sarah
Sarah is one of Catherine's dear friends here in Tennessee. They met very quickly after we moved here and Sarah was so helpful in getting us acclimated to a new place! Her friendship has been such a gift to Catherine in so many ways these past almost 4 years and it's our joy to get to serve her on May 2nd.
Her husband, Dale, passed away tragically in November of this past year, leaving behind Sarah and their four young kids. He had a heart for hosting people in their space and glorifying God through hospitality. We plan to spend the day beautifying the outdoor spaces in their home in his honor. We will also be clearing out their two car, detached garage in preparation for demo and rebuilding a new one in its place.
A Different Kind of Fundraiser
A team of volunteers is completing a service project of fixing up a widow's home. We are raising sponsorship for our day of service. The funds raised will help a child to become adopted into a forever family. Will you sponsor us?

We are committed to doing everything we can to help our Both Hands families afford adoption. That’s why we don't take out any administrative fees from donations to our projects. If a donor chooses not to cover the credit card and processing fees, Both Hands will cover it to ensure 100% of the gift supports the cause.
