Lake Country Lutheran High School
At Lake Country Lutheran High School, our passion is simple and clear: We Teach Truth—the Truth revealed in God’s Word and centered in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Because of this calling, we want to be a part of a Both Hands Project. Jesus reminds us in Matthew 22 that the greatest commandment is to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and mind, and the second is connected: to love our neighbor as ourselves. James 1:27 tells us how this love takes shape in everyday life: by caring for widows and orphans—those who cannot care for themselves. This, James says, is “pure religion.” For us at LCL, joining a Both Hands Project that cares for a widow in need and connects a family through the beautiful gift of adoption is a natural way to live out the Truth we teach, by putting our faith into action, loving God through loving others, and showing the gospel in tangible, life-giving ways.

The Pautz Family Adoption
Funds raised with this project will go towards a matching grant for the Pautz family's adoption! After trying to grow their family & experiencing infertility for almost 4 years, Josh & Holly knew God was calling them to pursue adoption. They are now matched with a birth family in Arkansas and can't wait to meet their baby who is due in January.
Sigrid & Maraty
Sigrid is 95 years old and lives in Brookfield, WI. Her husband, who served in the Air Force, passed away 36 years ago. Today, Sigrid still lives alone in the home that her husband and father built together in 1952, after his military service ended and he took up work as a bricklayer. With the support of her adult children and grandchildren, the house has remained in excellent condition. At first, Sigrid was convinced that others needed help more than she did. But eventually, she agreed to allow an LCL team to assist with a paver section in her backyard—overgrown with weeds—along with a few other outdoor tasks. This photo shows Sigrid with her husband, taken more than 36 years ago.
Maraty is young, healthy, spunky, and constantly looking for ways to bless other people and lift them up. She lost her husband, Matt, to lung cancer (not a smoker) in 2024. Matt worked in healthcare and had a passion for people. Maraty still works in healthcare and is raising 2 INCREDIBLE daughters. Maraty lives with a JOY that seems impossible after what she has experienced. Not only does she seize life to live it, raise a couple of beautiful young ladies, but she also has her own aging (and spunky) mother at home. She does not need pity, but she would love to have some fun weeding and window washing with some dedicated high schoolers.
These women are both amazing and we are so blessed to be able to serve them with this project. We hope to serve a few more families this fall!
A Different Kind of Fundraiser
A team of volunteers is completing a service project of fixing up a widow's home. We are raising sponsorship for our day of service. The funds raised will help a child to become adopted into a forever family. Will you sponsor us?

We are committed to doing everything we can to help our Both Hands families afford adoption. That’s why we don't take out any administrative fees from donations to our projects. If a donor chooses not to cover the credit card and processing fees, Both Hands will cover it to ensure 100% of the gift supports the cause.
