Joel & Brittany Maillet
Adoption is a calling from God. No one wakes up one morning and flippantly decides, “Hey, let’s adopt”! For us, the journey towards adoption was one of God’s still small voice in the midst of immense trials. We knew in our hearts that we were to have a fourth child, but experiencing a miscarriage was not a part of the plan. After the tragic loss, God began to speak to us through dreams, our community, and a divine sense of agreement between husband and wife. He was leading us, despite our list of impossibilities, towards adopting a newborn.
**The first $4,000 raised by this project will be matched!**

Baby Maillet
We praise God for bringing August home, but we are still believing to conquer the financial mountain of adoption. He is deeply loved by his three siblings and is getting plenty of snuggles from them as well as from Mom and Dad. At 3 months old, he is healthy, smiling, attentive, and growing so fast! As an open adoption, we are in communication with Birth Mom, sending pictures and updates regularly. The finish line of "finalization" is still before us and we are believing God to break the tape with no adoption debt!
Ms. Melissa
Melissa's story is one of triumph and tragedy. We met Melissa through a Care Group led by another beautiful widowed friend. She and her husband have four biological children as well as four adopted children, two of which have special needs. Soon after their own journey of adoption, Melissa's husband was diagnosed with ALS. His health and mobility declined over the course of 3 years, ending in his passing January of 2025. Now, Melissa is left with caring for the 5 younger children (1 biological, 4 adopted) with very little additional help. Throughout the house there cracks and dents from collisions with her husbands wheelchair—sobering reminders of his condition. We want to bring in a team to repair these damaged spots. It has also been a challenge to manage all of the children, especially meal time. We will be rallying our team to bless them with freezer meals. So far we have 30 meals committed! We want this family to know that they are not alone in this challenging time.
A Different Kind of Fundraiser
A team of volunteers is completing a service project of fixing up a widow's home. We are raising sponsorship for our day of service. The funds raised will help a child to become adopted into a forever family. Will you sponsor us?

We are committed to doing everything we can to help our Both Hands families afford adoption. That’s why we don't take out any administrative fees from donations to our projects. If a donor chooses not to cover the credit card and processing fees, Both Hands will cover it to ensure 100% of the gift supports the cause.
