Hi! We’re Derek and Amanda. We have a true love for Jesus and spreading his Good News. Going through years of infertility has truly deepened our love and trust in God and how he has designed our future family. Adoption has been on our hearts for years. We have constantly been reminded of our own adoption into God’s family throughout this process. We can’t wait to see how God works through our growing family.

Baby Saugstad
We discovered early on into our marriage that we would need assistance with starting a family. After years of infertility, we believe God led us towards our adoption journey which began in October 2025. Since then, we have been constantly reminded of trusting in God's perfect timing! We are pursuing a domestic infant open adoption through a local agency. We are prayerfully waiting to be matched with a child from birth to 1 years of age.
Domestic adoption costs around $60,000, which primarily covers agency fees, birth mother care (support with daily living, counseling, etc) and legal fees.
Ms. Linda
Ms. Linda has been the secretary at my (Derek) school for as long as I can remember. When I was a child, I would go to school with my dad to visit his classroom, and I would often see Ms. Linda helping someone or taking care of something around the school.
Now that I am a teacher at the same school, I have an even greater appreciation for the many ways she serves others. She is one of the most humble people I know and is always willing to put the needs of others before her own.
Because of the many years she has spent faithfully serving our school community, we saw this as a wonderful opportunity to serve her and give back in a small way.
On our project day, we plan to wash windows, install light fixtures, caulk and repair her faucet and tub, and help with any other needs that arise around her home.
A Different Kind of Fundraiser
A team of volunteers is completing a service project of fixing up a widow's home. We are raising sponsorship for our day of service. The funds raised will help a child to become adopted into a forever family. Will you sponsor us?

Your tax-deductible donation is to the 501(c)3 non-profit organization Both Hands Foundation (EIN 26-1879659). In following IRS guidelines, Both Hands’ governing board retains full discretion over the donation’s use, but intends to honor the donor’s suggestion. Both Hands does not charge an administrative fee and raises its operating support separately. Donors that supply their email will receive a tax receipt upon donation. Those who leave it blank will receive a mailed tax receipt at year end, if the donation is $250 or more.

If a donor chooses not to cover the credit card and processing fees, Both Hands will cover it to ensure 100% of the gift supports the cause.
