Brian & Lauren Simmons

April 5, 2025 | McKinney, TX

We’re the Simmons—Brian and Lauren. We’ve been married for seven years and have been blessed with two wonderful children through our blended family—a 12-year-old daughter and a 5-year-old son. After the birth of our second child, we felt God placing adoption on our hearts. As believers, we know that we have been adopted into His family, and that truth has shaped our desire to open our home to a child through adoption. James 1:27 calls us to care for orphans, and we see this journey as a way to live out our faith in a deeply personal way. Our home is filled with love, faith, and laughter, and we are committed to providing a stable, nurturing environment where a child will always feel safe, cherished, and deeply wanted.

***The first $3,000 donated to this project will be matched!!***

Domestic Adoption | United States

In early 2024, we took the first step in our adoption journey by finding an agency that specializes in domestic adoption within the state of Texas. Since then, we’ve completed the necessary steps, including completing our home study, and are now waiting to go active. Once we are active, we will enter the matching phase, where our profile will be shown to expectant mothers who are making an adoption plan. We are open to adopting a boy or girl, ages newborn to 2 years old, from any ethnic background. We are excited to be in this stage of the process and look forward to the next steps in growing our family.

Ms. Laura

Widow | Texas

Laura is retired pharmacist and a lifelong Texas Longhorn fan. She was married to Larry, also a pharmacist, and he passed away unexpectedly from pancreatic cancer just a few days before their 40th wedding anniversary. They enjoyed spending time with family, being involved in their church, traveling, going to the movies, and watching sports. Her husband passed away a few months before they were set to retire and spend the rest of their lives enjoying their time together after demanding careers. Just two weeks after her husband passed away, her sister (and the primary caregiver for their parents) was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Laura quickly prepared to sell her home and moved in with her parents to spend her time caring for them and her sister. She put so much of her life on hold as she spent the next 2.5 years caring for her family. She is now getting established in her new home and prioritizing her needs as she learns to build a life that looks so different from how she thought it would be. Laura currently enjoys her church, art classes, tending to plants, and spending time with her grandchildren.

A Different Kind of Fundraiser

A team of volunteers is completing a service project of fixing up a widow's home. We are raising sponsorship for our day of service. The funds raised will help a child to become adopted into a forever family. Will you sponsor us?
