Caleb & Kate Thompson
We currently have a 4 year old and 2 year old who are both best friends and also have very different personalities. It’s also important to know that our pup, Sushi, is both very loved and also keeps everyone constantly on their toes in this house. Six years ago, we moved to Charleston to help start Grace City Church where we have since found a really meaningful community. Our desire to adopt comes from a deep understanding and gratitude of our personal adoption into the family of God – understanding that pain, hardship and joy all comes with being chosen and loved. The gospel has changed both of our lives radically. God stirred Caleb’s heart for adoption after he saw the impact of absent parents in the lives of some of his friends. Kate’s heart for adoption came from a place of love and curiosity for people and recognizing that God has given her a heart and joy to be with people in broken spaces.

Baby Thompson
We are currently an "approved and waiting family" in the adoption process. Many people in the adoption world will reference what is called the "adoption triad" - this consists of a birth mother, a child and an adoptive family. In this stage of waiting, we are actively praying for birth mothers who are making really courageous, hard decisions to care for their children in the best way they can while experiencing surreal trauma and brokenness. We view being in this season of waiting and praying a true honor.
Ms. Betty
Ms. Betty has been our next door neighbor for 6 years! When we first moved to the area, she and her late husband Leroy were amongst our first friends as we spent most weekends doing yard work together. They have celebrated and cared for us as our family has grown over the years and been a true support system for us settling into a new city. Mr. Leroy passed this past January due to health complications. Our family loves Ms. Betty dearly and are thankful for the ways our fundraising will benefit her and her home.
A Different Kind of Fundraiser
A team of volunteers is completing a service project of fixing up a widow's home. We are raising sponsorship for our day of service. The funds raised will help a child to become adopted into a forever family. Will you sponsor us?

No Administration Fees

We are committed to doing everything we can to help our Both Hands families afford adoption. That’s why we don't take out any administrative fees from donations to our projects. If a donor chooses not to cover the credit card and processing fees, Both Hands will cover it to ensure 100% of the gift supports the cause.
We raise funds for our operations separately through support from donors like you. By supporting Both Hands, you help us serve more adoptive families, bless more widows, and bring even more children into their forever families.
